Meet Eunice MKU Bachelor of Commerce Alumnus :The visionary entrepreneur
Eunice Nzisa Joseph is among Mount Kenya University alumni fast-rising entrepreneurs, a remarkable trailblazer and an example of a lady who made it against all odds. Eunice at only 25 years chose to venture where many fear the risk that is, Sole Proprietorship business especially a fresh graduates. Joyous Global Shop is retail and grocery outlet. Using her knowledge in BCOM she is able to apply business best principles especially customer service and demand. This led to expand her business to beauty products and household items. In her next plans she says her customers have been after a fast foods, she plans to start after re-modernizing her premises. As the name suggests, Joyous Global Shop, Nzisa has a great vision ahead of her. This is to make her customers happy by offering quality products and services. She has a dream to own a supermarket in the next five years as well as going global.

Born and bred in Kitui County where she studied both her primary and secondary school education, this determined lady entrepreneur has battled against many challenges to create a business success story that is locally admired. Eunice started with a Diploma in Banking and Finance at MKU in May 2012 and later enrolled for a Bachelor in Commerce from Jan 2014 to July 2017 when she graduated.
The urge to start a business was from the fact that she loved job creation based on Chairman MKU Board of Trustees prof Simon Gicharu’s motto, “…we train job creators and not job seekers.” She embraced this and since then she has remained focused. With a starting capital of sh7500, this enabled her to penetrate into the business world right after graduating. The business so far has grown to a turnover of Ksh. 47000 per month.

During her free time she enjoys writing, mentoring youths, as well as giving back to the society through charity works. She also believes success is a journey; a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step and that success only comes to those who believe in the beauty of their dream. Eunice further advises upcoming entrepreneurs;

“Start small with whatever you have.”
“Believe in the beauty of your dream and success will finally locate you.”
Lastly, she attributes her success and inspiration from his dad who is a businessman and Mount Kenya University for giving her the opportunity to interact with people and gain the courage to forge ahead her ideas.
