Meet Prof. Peter Wanderi, Ag. Vice-Chancellor
Prof. Mwangi Peter Wanderi is an experienced, motivated and results-oriented teacher / trainer, researcher, grant writer, project manager and administrator. With a strong inclination to policy research and training, he has within the last 30 years developed and implemented diverse externally-funded research projects and youth employability intervention programmes, capacity-building projects in various education-related fields, both in mainstream physical education as well as in sports entrepreneurship and youth empowerment projects.
Prof. Peter Wanderi Ag. Vice-Chancellor Mount Kenya University
He has supervised over a total of 56 students in Physical Education and related disciplines at postgraduate level including PhD and Master levels. He is reputed for his mastery of writing and communication skills. He has also published widely. He is currently serving as the Acting Vice-Chancellor at Mount Kenya University and coordinating a number of local and international, inter-disciplinary projects at Mount Kenya University. He is also the Overseer of the Graduate Enterprise Academy which is a graduates and youth empowerment forum at Mount Kenya University. Three of his most outstanding grant projects that he has won so far are the Students Training for Entrepreneurial Promotion (STEP), the Erasmus + sponsored African Higher Education Leadership in Advancing Inclusive Innovation for Development (AHEAD) and the DAAD Collaboration of Entrepreneurial Universities (CEPU). He has been a key leader in the continental Interdisciplinary Research Consortium (currently involves 4 Universities) and the Data Science for SMEs projects at African and national levels.
