MKU’s Graduate Enterprise Academy (GEA) Joins UNESCO’s Partnerships

The Kenya National Commission for UNESCO (KNATCOM-UNESCO) has sponsored an eight (8) weeks long youth empowerment program in Isiolo County.  The project started in April 2019 and will end in June 2019 with Mount Kenya University (MKU) and Kenyatta University (KU) as strategic knowledge partners.  MKU’s team of trainers includes a selected representation from the Student Training for Entrepreneurship Promotion (STEP) trainers at MKU.

One significant undertaking by MKU in this project is the inclusion of two (2) Graduate Enterprise Academy’s beneficiaries who are STEP trainers as part of the MKU team.  The two STEP – GEA trainers included in the Isiolo County-KNATCOM-UNESCO-KU-MKU multi partnership project are Geoffrey Ngotho and Stellamaris Kathomi who are also known by their business names as Kipacha Technologies and Stellamaris Tours & Travel. The two studied ICT at MKU.  A key responsibility of STEP-GEA trainers in this project is to include the prospective start-ups in a national wide peer-mentoring and networking website which shall offer post training mentoring and networking opportunities to start-up owners after the commissioning ceremony.
