The teams faced off with over sixteen (16) Universities to win many accolades, namely: –
- Best University women overall – Mount Kenya University
- Best University men overall – Mount Kenya University
- The best overall winning University – Mount Kenya University
MKU scooped a total of 30 gold medals, 13 silver medals and 19th bronze medals totaling to a total of 62 medals.
Followed by Strathmore University that came second with a total of 30 medals, the hosts University of Nairobi came a distant third with 55 medals.
Our national teams’ champions came from, netball ladies, woodball men and women, athletics men and women, Tennis men and women, scrabble women, badminton men and women, karate men and women, rugby men, volleyball men, taekwondo men and women other teams that represented the University were soccer ladies, basketball men and women, table tennis and darts.
“I am very proud of these young sportsmen and women, this achievement has been solemnly gained through hard work in training, consistency, team work, and most importantly by God’s grace” Mr. William Luta the University Sports and Creative Arts Coordinator said.
The University is determined to ensure that we nature the talents of our students.
MKU through the Board of Directors and the University management has ensured that we have modern facilities that make it easier for students to train in co-curricular activities.
